You will need:

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Pre-made pie crust
  • 3 Affy Tapples
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

PREPARATION

1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Spread a sheet of parchment paper onto a baking sheet and lay your pie crust out flat.

2. Slice 3 Affy Tapples into ¼-inch slices. The best way to slice an Affy Tapple is to first cut down the center near the stick (don't cut into the stick!), then lay the half flat-side down. Then, cut it into slices. Do the same for the other side, and then slice off the remaining parts on either side.

3. Arrange the slices in an overlapping pattern on the pie crust, then sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, or any other spices that suit your fancy!

4. Fold the edges of the pie crust over the slices and brush the sides of the pastry with the egg wash. Sprinkle sugar on the folded edges. We used Demerara sugar for our galette!

5. Pop the galette into the oven and allow to bake for 40 minutes, rotating the baking sheet halfway through. Yields 6-8 servings. Enjoy!
